God-Story #12: Cyndi

So, 2011 has been an incredibly difficult year, yet one in which God's faithfulness has been shining through! Other than the support of our "child" at Kulphar Kid's Home in India, we have not been doing any real giving. Nevertheless, I decided to commit to the 90 day tithe challenge. After I made my first offering, my daughter was given a $1600 scholarship for grad school, completely out of the blue. What better way to bless a mother than a gift for her child? But God wasn't finished yet; no way. I work for a company that has not given raises or bonuses for more than three years, and the company is just now emerging from Chaper 11 bankruptcy. So, the chance of getting a raise in the next year or so was pretty slim. But this week my boss called me into her office and told me that they wanted me to consider taking on a different position than I have had in my five years with the company. Oh, and by-the-way it would be a promotion...with a raise. Oh, and coincidentally, the amount of the raise is just more than the amount of my 90-day commitment.
God is good!

God-Story #10: Sarah

So an amazing story of God's faithfulness as we commit to this 90 Day Challenge - we had an enormous amount of hospital bills after our daughter Madison was born 5 months ago. I called every single one of the bills to request financial assistance. 3 months ago I filled out a very extensive financial aid application, and this week when I called to make my $50 monthly payment, they let me know that the $3,000 debt had been completely canceled! It was then that I realized this was a testimony to God's faithfulness to our obedient and willing hearts as we commit to this 90 day challenge. We felt God calling us to give more than 10% and He totally blessed us by canceling this debt! Hope that encourages you as you commit to give abundantly back to Him!

God-Story #7: Jason

Several weeks ago, even before God led us to the 90-Day Tithe Challenge, the elders began praying about and discussing ways we could lead and encourage our congregation in the area of joyful giving. One of the ideas we had considered was asking folks who were already giving regularly to stretch in faith and give an additional $25/week until the end of 2011. The week after we discussed that idea, I started praying about our family's participation in that challenge. However, when Sunday morning came, I realized I had not actually done any due diligence to make sure we could "afford" it in our budget, etc. Still, I felt strongly led to step out in faith and commit to at least the extra $25/week through the end of 2011. So, I hit up the giving kiosk and added $25 to our giving that week, and honestly didn't think much of it after that. That was Sunday...

God-Story #6

Our family had been praying about doing the 90-day tithe challenge b/c our finances are ALWAYS a major stress to us and there never seems to be quite enough. While pondering this possibility about the 90 day challenge, we got a HUGE property tax bill in the mail...one we had never received before. This, of course, was a major stress b/c we already couldn't pay all the bills and we were wanting to be faithful about tithing, but this bill just seemed to take us, yet again, down the road of "we can tithe later...when we have the money to do so". Then, not 3 days later, we received a letter in the mail stating that the bill that was sent, was sent in error b/c we are paying our taxes through our mortgage company...So, bill taken care of and 90 day challenge...Here we come!! Not quite sure how things are going to go, but are quite sure about the God we serve!

Praise God!!
